OMAHA, NE (September 24, 2008) - Restaurants in the Greater Omaha area that are participating in “Dine Out Against Hunger” on Tuesday, October 14 have agreed to donate ten percent of the day’s proceeds to The Food Bank.

“More than 15,000 children in Douglas County don’t know where their next meal is coming from. As a business that celebrates families, we knew we had to do our part to help less fortunate kids and their families,” said Chris Haberer, Director of Operations for The Amazing Pizza Machine. “We encourage our customers to join us in supporting The Food Bank’s 6th Annual ‘Dine Out Against Hunger’ event on Tuesday, October 14.”

ABOUT THE FOOD BANK
The Food Bank is a non-profit organization whose mission is to alleviate hunger through the collection of donated food and household products and the distribution of these items to charities and organizations that help people in need. The Food Bank works with over 360 organizations in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa to combat the issue of hunger. Began in 1981, The Food Bank now distributes between five and seven million pounds of food annually. For each dollar donated to The Food Bank, $14 of food and household product can be distributed.
